Coaches Corner 4

Hello,
Please have a look at all of the links I have posted. There are quite a few to choose from, so have at it!
Great Job today everyone!

At the Home meet we had a lot of trouble with finishing under the water and touching the pads to stop the time. Guys and Girls when you finish your race your hand must be under the water!!
PLEASE watch at "1:10" when she touches the wall UNDERWATER! And again at the end.

Coaches Corner 3

Hello everyone,
Great job at the meet today!
Here are some new drills I would like you to take a look at.

Number One:
"Balanced swim/Kick body roll Steady head"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJKs9hiffKY&feature=channel
-When some kids swim they over rotate and move their head in extreme directions. Keep your head steady while swimming as shown in this drill. This will benefit all of you!

Number Two:

Coaches Corner 2

Hello everyone! I have not updated in a while and I apologize but I have been having trouble with my laptop.
Anyways, I found this website kind of interesting, and I wanted to share it with all of you.

Personally, I think it would be hard to do flip-turns with that "board" on.

Furthermore, This video is for all groups. Some swimmers question us when we give them a kick set. This video explains why it is important. I think you should watch it, and even try the drills next practice.

Coaches Corner

Hello Swimmers,
This is the first of many "Coaches Corner". I will be posting new drills that I would like you to take a look at, and then WE shall try them at practice. I will try to list the "group" that the drill I post pertains to.

During practice I notice a lot of kids looking at the ceiling or lifting their head completely out of the water to take a breath when swimming freestyle. When this happens one tends to "over rotate" or "swim flat". Neither of those things are good things. So hopefully you learn a lot from this drill.
